If you play a lot of Brick Breaker as I do, and if you’ve ever lost a game due to a dead battery, you know how frustrating this can be. Recently, I lost a game that I was going to use for a photo for my Brick Breaker website, but lost it at almost 850,000 points.
The plan was to get to 1 million, then take a picture and post it here. I had close to 200 lives, and what I thought was plenty of battery life. Just as my battery started to blink, I plugged in the phone and thought everything would be fine. Not the case.
Zillions of wasted hours into this game, it was all gone. Zero points. F me hard.
The battery wasn’t even dead!
So, after some time off from the game, I’ve been playing again. Would-be 5 minute toilet runs are 30 minutes toilet runs, and after about 10 tries, I’ve broken through the first two rounds again. Currently at 67,240 points and 37 lives, I plan to take pictures at every 100,000 point level. The idea is to show people that it really can be done.
I’m not one of those 16 year old kids with Playstation fingers and lightning quick reflexes. I’m a 39 year old man who runs his own online business, and enjoys some peace away from the computer with a few minutes of solace on the patio or, err, bathroom.
So, what I’m saying is, anyone can beat Brickbreaker – anyone.
Sometimes it takes a bit of luck, to get a couple of favorable bounces, or hit one of those games when it’s giving out lots of Life capsules. Sometimes it’s not a bad idea to throw away a game that is starting out bad. Don’t worry, nobody is going to call you a quitter for giving up on a stupid Blackberry phone game.
Lesson learned: Keep the damn battery charged, and just keep trying.
